A young couple participating at a Bishop's Guild eventGoals & Participation

The idea to begin the Bishop’s Guild was born out of the need to fill a $1 million gap in the seminarians’ budget in 2012. It kicked off with three pilot parishes: Good Shepherd in Colleyville, Most Blessed Sacrament in Arlington, and St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth. More than 21 parishes are represented now.

There are three levels of membership:

  • General Membership is a three-year commitment of $2,500 a year ($208 per month) for a total of $7,500. (Renewal options after year three)
  • Associate Membership is for people in their 20’s and 30’s with a $1,000 commitment ($83.33 per month) (Annual renewal options)
  • Lifetime Membership is for a one-time commitment of $50,000. (No annual renewals)

The ultimate goal is 400 members that would generate $1 million annually. It will take multiple years to reach this goal. In 2015, the goal is to get to 200 members. Members are encouraged to participate in at least two semi-annual events with Bishop Michael F. Olson.
